Sociologist working on gender equality, immigrant integration and freedom of speech

Marjan Nadim has a PhD in Sociology from University of Oslo (2014), and her research interests include: immigrants and children of immigrants in education and the labour market, gender equality in the labour market, hate speech and free speech.

Nadim is a member of the editorial board of the Norwegian Journal of Working Life Studies, and is a member of the Norwegian national UNESCO commission. She was member of the Norwegian Government’s Equality Commission submitting two official reports: NOU 2011:18 Structure for equality, and NOU 2012: 15 Policy for equality. Nadim has a MSc in Social Psychology from London School of Economics (LSE).
