Tanja Storsul’s research interests include changing media structures and how new media technologies challenge the media, the media industry and media policy. She has also done research on social media as a platform for political participation and deliberation. Her latest book is Media Innovations. A Multidisciplinary Study of Change (Nordicom 2013), edited by Tanja Storsul and Arne H. Krumsvik.
Storsul has served in several government committees, including the Media Ownership Commission, the Media Support Commission (NOU 2010:14) and the Academic Freedom Commission (NOU 2006:19). She is a member of the Research board for the Division of Innovation (Research Council of Norway) and the DG Connect Advisory Forum for Horizon 2020.
She holds a PhD (dr. polit) in media studies and has previously been Head of Department and professor at the Department of Media and Communication, University of Oslo.
